Fasted HIIT Workouts

Introduction

Timing

Complete your workouts while in a fasted state. What does that mean? Do not consume any calories before you complete your workout. Anything without calories such as water, black coffee or tea (no creamer, sugar, honey etc.) is acceptable.

Working out in a fasted state tells your body to pull from your fat store rather than from whatever you have eaten. This allows you to burn the most fast during your short intense HIIT workout.

Supplement right

200-400mg of Caffeine is great for fat burning. One cup of black coffee will do the trick! If you can have a cup prior to your HIIT, that will do the trick.

Hear Rate Monitor and BCAAs

Wearing a heart rate monitor while you workout allows you to see what zone your heart is working in and how many calories you are burning!

BCAAs are the best thing you can drink while working out to protect the muscle you have from being burned and provide you with additional endurance while working out fasted.

I always wear my polar monitor and drink my BPI BCAAs (Fruit punch) during my HIIT sessions.
